We don't just run backups and hope for the best. Every backup is monitored, and when one doesn't complete, it's flagged and chased down the same day — part of how we keep an eye on things 24/7. Here's what usually causes a missed backup, and exactly how we handle it.
Where backups actually slip
When a backup doesn't complete, it's almost never the backup system itself — it's that the device wasn't on and connected when it tried to run. The two usual suspects:
Laptops
Shut down for the night, lid closed and asleep, or the battery ran out before the backup finished. Laptops move around and get powered off — so they're the most common miss.
Desktops
Powered off at the end of the day, or dropped into sleep mode. If the machine isn't awake and connected when the backup runs, it simply waits for the next one.

Every backup is checked against the last 24 hours. If one didn't complete, we don't wait for you to notice.
